mirrored floor effect
k, so i am trying to make a cool desktop for myself. (attached image of how far i am so far) i want it to be the logo i made reflecting off of a black floor or really dark water, with sparks bouncing off of the logo and the ground/water. could anyone help me along with this? thanks a bunch for the help Smile and the other attached file is the kind of effect im working for.

RE: mirrored floor effect
For mirroring:

- Duplicate, flip and position the layer with the subject, for a first reflection layer
- Duplicate this layer and blur it
- Use a layer mask with a vertical black-to-white gradient to mix these two layers into single reflection that starts sharp near the original object and gradually blurs.
- Commit that reflection to a single layer then do a second layer mask to make it gradually transparent.
- For water you can add "Filter/Distorts/Ripple" or "Filter/Distorts/Waves"

k, so here is what i have now, i decided to go with more of a solid ground thing instead of ripples. but now i can't figure out how to use the gloss filter on the lower section of the picture so that it looks like a mirror. how i have been trying to do it is by using the rectangle select tool, selected the whole bottom part of the image, and then applying the gloss filter with both of the gradients set to FG to transparent.
