Making Background Transparent Help?
I have an image I'm making the background transparent on, but it's making part of the image itself transparent. Am I going to have to use the eraser in order to not make the part of the image transparent and just the background? Or is there another option I can use, cause the fuzzy tool isn't working out Sad

RE: Making Background Transparent Help?
There are many ways to remove background in GIMP.
  1. Color selection method - Works best with contrasting backgrounds
  2. Manually selecting - Boring but rewarding.
  3. Masking - Time consuming but you can save as you work.

These are just a few.

To make the background transparent you first need to;
Layer --> Transparency --> Add Alpha Channel

After you make it transparent, use the (Shift+O) Color Selection Tool to select the background. If parts of the FG get select just use Quick Mask toggle (Shift+Q) to erase that part of the selection. Toggle back hit [Delete] to clear the unwanted background.
