Make faint pattern stand out
Hello,
On the attached     photo, I am interested in making the faint water droplets on the surface where H905 is written stand out as much as possible. I'm playing around with colour balance etc, but I'm no expert.
Would anyone have tips on which image transformations to perform with Gimp?
Thanks!

RE: Make faint pattern stand out
Zoom in.
Select by color the droplet highlights in 'Add to Selection' mode.
Save the drop highlights to a channel.
Create a new transparent layer called Highlights.
Selection from your saved channel.
Fill the highlights with white and reduce opacity as required.
Now create a dropshadow layer based on the Highlight layer.
Reduce it's opacity as required.

I didn't select every droplet but here is an idea of what the results will look like.

Wow that's amazing, thanks! The thing is, I need to be able to do this automatically without knowing where the droplets are. Is there a way to tell Gimp to do this everywhere that's yellow?

It's right next to the 'make coffee' 'do shopping' and just between "pick up the kids" buttons Wink

The method shown by FB2 must be what produces the best result. Exclamation

With unsharp mask (or similar filter) can get something more automatic. But depending on the image other adjustments may be necessary.
Using Filter-enhace-Unsharp Mask
