Layer Window
I accidentally disengaged my layer window from the paths/etc. window. The format persists even when I restart GIMP. It's kinda irritating, and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to return my layer window to its default state.

RE: Layer Window
Drag it back to the tabs area, by clicking it near 'Layers' (the one inside the window, not the title bar)

RE: Layer Window
Lots of ways.

On the right side of the dock there is a small arrow. Click on that and you can add a tab. The tabs drag around so you can order them to your preference. Once set up, there is a tick box to lock the tab in place.
