layer opacity: odd behavior
Ordinarily, when I exercise the opacity slider for an active layer I can see the full range of opacity follow the setting. Somehow I've gotten this v2.6 on a Linux box into a mode where the visible opacity doesn't follow the slider full range. Instead it is all or nothing. At 50% or less opacity the layer is entirely transparent and at 50.1% or more it is entirely opaque. What did I tweak without knowing it that is causing this change in behavior?

RE: layer opacity: odd behavior
Is the layer in some specific mode? Is the image in index mode?

Otherwise can you post the XCF (crop it to a 100x100 representative spot if you don't want to show it in full)?

Bingo! Give the man a qewpie doll.
The image was in Index mode and I just failed to pick up on it since I've not had occasion to mess with that feature before now. Thanks for the tipoff.
