Layer-mask opacity effects not clear
From the manual:
White (full opacity): the mask is white in the Layer Dialog. So, all pixels of the layer are visible
in the image window since painting the mask with white makes layer pixels fully visible. You
will paint with black to make layer pixels transparent.

If the mask is white and therefore OPAQUE, how are pixels of the layer VISIBLE in the image window??? Won't the opaque pixels of the mask block any light leaving the layer towards the image window?

Isn't it like this:

MASK-white pixels block light (opaque)

Hi veek

This forum is virtually dead. Those that used to hang out here can now be found on
https://www.gimp-forum.net
It will be better to ask your question there.
