layer mask
hello -

I'm just starting to get to grips properly with GIMP, after years of using an old version of PS (7)

I need to use a layer mask, but the layer mask option is grayed out. I'm clearly doing something obvious wrong - can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

Chris

RE: layer mask
If you have an image loaded, and an active layer, the layer mask option should be enabled. If other entries under Layer/Mask are enabled, it means that you already have a mask for that layer (and you should then have two thumbnails in the Layers list for that layer).
