layer 2 images 1 transparent to another
2 images American flag and 4 jets in tight formation. I have taken the background color of the jets (light blue) and used it as the base layer. Extracted the American flag from its graphic, lightened it and feathered it and placed it on top of the base layer as a second layer.
I want to place the 4 jets image on top of the flag but still have the flag image come thru. The jets being dominate. I know it involves layer masks and possibly an alpha channel. I just can't seem to put things in the correct sequence. Or am I asking something that can not be done. If needed I can supply images

Thanks in advance

Hm...

Quote: still have the flag image come thru. The jets being dominate.

If you mean the jets taking up most of the image, I would scale it up (Scale scale tool) some using the scale tool.
You don't really need layer masks, only layer mode (found near the top of the layers window).
- After scaling it up some
- Change the layer mode of the jets to "burn" or "hard light"

(click for slightly bigger pic)

Not quite sure how you want it to look like with 2 flags :\

Layer mode is what I need. It allows the flag to come thru and I can overlay the jets on top. Thanks. I just have to play with colors, etc to get it to come out.
Thanks again.
