Jagged Edges
I have 300 images and I need to apply a jagged edge to each of them. How can I do this?

RE: Jagged Edges
Slim pickings as far as I could find for tutorials
These might do the trick(courtesy of OP's): 1. Torn page edge effect Gimp http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/gimptut...-Paper.htm -Click the "Next>" button to go to the next page (4 total page tutorial, vary lengths) 2. Tutorial + plugin combo *NOTE: Author states plugin might work on latest gimp, so check your gimp version. http://blog.yjl.im/2013/01/gimp-plugin-t...nshot.html "In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than fear of failure." RE: Jagged Edges
Looking at various Gimp options for this
You can set a selection to give a distorted edge. For the occasional file I use a 'bespoke' brush. but 300 files you need a batch operation and maybe Gimp is not the best tool for the job. XnViewMP is free and is made for batch operations. You still need Gimp to make a mask. Start off with grayscale, black on white to paint a mask but save it as a gif, I found this works best. Give it a name where you can easily find it. Like the screenshot & make it somewhere close to the size of the images. screenshot http://i.imgur.com/vHBJxUW.jpg Not going to labour the XnView settings, The stretch mask setting you will need, if jpg with no transparency set a background colour. If you need transparency, enable that and an extra setting, output to png which supports transparency. When selecting images, ctrl-a works the same as everywhere, so does ctrl-click. screenshot http://i.imgur.com/1Gx9IT8.jpg Depends on images and computer speed, but 10 images took 50 seconds here to apply the mask and write to png. One thing to note since the mask is stretched, 'vertical' images might need their own operation. screenshot http://i.imgur.com/G2mGdOJ.jpg ** https://www.gimp-forum.net/ now answering questions** |
