issue with gimp, querying new plug-in (every start-up)
ever since yesterday, EVERY TIME I run Gimp it ALWAYS shows 'querying new plug-ins' BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY NEW PLUG-INS!!! and it goes through EVERY SINGLE plug-in that Gimp has including the ones preinstalled with Gimp!!! it is getting to be a PAIN to wait for this EVERY TIME I run Gimp!!!

Actually it looks for things that look executable in the "plugins" directories of its installation tree and the user's profile, and runs them one by one so that they register with Gimp. Normally this takes a very short time, but if there is a rogue executable in these directories, it will be run but won't connect to Gimp and this slows down the whole startup... Some plugin may also be damaged and run longer than expected (looking for a file, or some url). Use "gimp-console --verbose" and see if there are any hints of what plug-in is being run then.

WTF is a "Gimp Console"???
