Installing Gimp 2.8.0 and saving 2.6 version?
Can I install the newer version 2.8.0 and also save the old version 2.6?
Thanks

RE: Installing Gimp 2.8.0 and saving 2.6 version?
Installing 2.8 uninstalls 2.6, but AFAIK reinstalling 2.6 after 2.8 just adds 2.6 alongside 2.8, and they coexists peacefully. These two versions use distinct Gimp profiles to you have to carry over your additional stuff (brushes/gradients/palettes...). Your 2.6 profile should remain unscathed after deinstall/reinstall of 2.6 (but it's always a good idea to have backups). Also check if you have any extensions (scripts or else) installed in the 2.6 installation tree (never a good idea IMHO). I don't know what the 2.8 installation does to them Smile
