RE: importing Images from scanner
If you have a scanner installed it's in "File/Create/From scanner" (from memory, I have no scanner installed on this system).

Personally, I don't scan directly in Gimp (or any image editing software), because if I goof up I have to rescan. So usually I scan first using the scanner software and edit in Gimp later.

RE: importing Images from scanner
Thanks for the prompt reply ofnuts, i assume that i have to install drivers for the scanner then, is that correct?

I have checked in File - create and there is no option (from scanner) there.

I was assuming that ubuntu had the drivers in house so to speak, as it does with my modem, under windows i had to install drivers for the modem, but ubuntu, i do not, so this being the case i guess i will have to download the scanner/printer drivers.

Thanks again, your reply is greatly appreciated, :-) Big Grin
