RE: image window size
Resize it, and then "Edit/Preferences -> Windows management/Window positions" and then either check "Save windows positions on exit" or uncheck it but click "Save windows positions now"

I guess I should be more specific. When I open gimp there it a bare image window. It is way too big. When I go to "help" resize it gives me instructions about how to resize a photo that is sitting in the image window. What I would like is to make the empty image window take its rightful size in proportion with the rest of the gimp opening page. if that requires resize please explain how to do it. Thank a lot for your patience, Angster |

RE: image window size
Resize the window like any window, by dragging the borders or corners.
