Image Rotation Issue
Hi, I've an issue I wonder have others the same problem. (i've had a search on the forum but don't see a similar issue).

I need to do a small bit of horizon straightening on an image which I have.

Using the rotation tool is fair enough.

Under clipping I select crop to result.

In the rotation dialog i enter the angle ( -.7 )

When I click rotate, it goes through the motions of a status bar advancing (green bar), but when it is finished doing its thing the image vanishes entirely, and i'm left with what looks like a transparent background.

If in clipping, I select 'Adjust', it rotates fine but I have to crop the result manually to have the image 'square' with no transparent angled edges.

Would anyone have come across this previously? or am I doing something i'm not supposed to/not understanding how the rotation tool works?

I'm using Gimp 2.6.4 on Windows Vista.

Thanks.

RE: Image Rotation Issue
Actually, it may be a bug. A little more info i've just discovered -

This issue appears only on a negative rotation value, so if I rotate +.7 there isn't a problem.

Maybe a bug. I'll check out the gimp's bug site

RE: Image Rotation Issue
Ok, no bug reported but I have found a fix.

I've downloaded 2.4.11 installed and all appears to work correctly.

For the information of anyone on 2.4.6, and if they are experiencing this issue, Setting the direction to be corrective rather than the default of normal also appears to work.

Best solution probably is to update your version to 2.4.11 or later release.

Cheers.

RE: Image Rotation Issue
Ah, my mistake - originally I was on ver 2.6.4 and earlier today I updated to ver 2.6.11

The image size originally was 1634x2500 and centre point was default.

That said, the version update appears to have resolved the issue.

Cheers.
