Image overlay
I would like to overlay image on another one. So that it looks like as if the image behind the front image is pressed in the front image from behind.
In other words, as if the front image is a sheet and the second image is a hand palm pressing into it.
I guess, in other words I would like to create a 3d feel to the image, with a a specific object creating the depth from behind the image, and the front image being the overlay.
My English is limited, I can't really explain better. If anyone can help, any help will be appreciated. I'm pretty new to image manipulations, also.

RE: Image overlay
What you want is called a "bump map". There is a filter for it in Gimp, and tutorials on the subject abound... (the 3D effect in my sig comes from a bump map).

RE: Image overlay
Thanks. I goggled up a tutorial and I'm going to investigate it all a bit later. It seems that I'll have to reinstall GIMP and use English as language, because the seps from tutorial aren't easy to track down in GIMP with current language, at first look.
