icon file transparency problem

icon file transparency problem
I'm trying to create an icon with a transparent background, but I keep getting a coloured haze around the edge of the icon (see picture), is there anything obvious that I'm doing wrong?

Thanks, that seems to have sorted it. The icon still appears like that in windows explorer, but I think that's something to do with explorer rather than the icon because it looks fine when I'm using it.

Likely a cache problem in Windows explorer that didn't notice the changes in the content.
