I need help.
I'm pretty new to gimp and and want to use it to edit Minecraft textures using mainly filters. My problem is most of the Minecraft textures are in one image together right against each other so if I use a blur effect the textures blur on to each other. Because the textures are the same size I was thinking that I might somehow be able to make a grid which filters only effect things inside each section so it does not blur across. Or do I have to select each separate texture and blur them individually ?

RE: I need help.
Most Gimp operations (and this includes blur) only applies to the selected pixels.

So if you make a rectangular selection that frames one texture, the blur will only apply to this texture.

To make selection simple, fast, and accurate, you can configure a "grid" (Image/Configure grid) and "View/Show Grid" and "View/Snap to Grid".
