How to remove the background from a photo?
Hi everyone!

Is there a way that I could use GIMP to remove the background of a photo? I have a photo that I took and would like to remove the background. I've been using MS Paint to do the job but it's not as smooth as I would like it to be.

I'm new to the forum here, my apologies if this has been posted before. After a few searches through the search bar and other looking around I wasn't able to find this particular question.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Let me know if this is what you are looking for. These methods allow you to basically separate a specific part of an image from the background. Just make sure the layer has an alpha channel so when it removes the background, the background turns to transparency.

There are other methods but I personally prefer these two. If you were looking for something different then let me know and I'll see what I can find.
