How to pass layer info to a different Editor?
Greets,
Is there a way to preserve layer info,
and pass that info back and forth between graphicEditors?

Gimp does 'select by color' best.
But other Editors do something else best.
So I would like to pass the layers around between Editors.
Thanks...vmars316

You can save a layer as an image (make it the only visible layer when you save).

You can load an image as a layer (File/Open as layers)

I'm curious to know what other editors do best. I'm sure I can avoid you some editor switching...

For one thing, the HELP.
The option 'save layer as file' has disappeared.
And i cant find it.
Gimp.chm (Content and Search) would help.

Another thing is the 'color picker tool'.
Once in a while it pops up, to tell me the color i selected.
But most the time, i dont know if i picked up a color or not.

Cant find (Help) out how to get a color in the 'paint brush tool'.
Once in a while, i stumble across it. But dont remember how i did it.

You don't need to use the console to run scripts. You should find that the script has installed an entry in the menus - specifically File->Save all layers... Just select that and it will run.

What version is he running?
I would like to do that too.
Thanks...vmars

The doc is on the web. Google has all the answers. "Save layer as file" isn't part of standard Gimp (and for most purposes making that layer visible before saving does the same thing).

Your Toolbox has an indicator of your foreground/background color...

The paintbrush (and all the paint tools) use either the foreground or background colors.
