how to make text image? more readable
Hi i followed a tutorial to get to an acceptable text image , even managed a border

Would like to know how to make the text more readable, my potential clients may be older and not appreciate the small type.

Its for an ebook . Thanks

RE: how to make text image? more readable
Your image link is broken (at least it is here) maybe edit your post to give the dropbox url.

The image I downloaded is very small, I hope that you have larger versions available. (you can always scale down later)

Probably best to straighten the image up with the rotate tool first but a simple adjustment to make the background white. Several ways to do this. Using the levels tool, move the sliders to get a more 'black and white' image.

edit: not much you can do about the size of the type, it is an image, not a text document. Back to, 'I hope you have a larger version'

Ok, after you've done the steps above in riche's post (highly recommend)

It can be prepwork to enlarge it using one of the below methods
*Just keep in mind, a rule of thumb is up-scaling a low-res picture; you can't add pixels/data to the picture so you will get pixelation but these plugin/script add-ons for gimp seem to to a great job at sharpening the image.

From order of best working:
(last script link before video has instruction on where to put the scripts)
What you want is the .scm files

scale in steps

Is supposed to have less jagged edges up sampling or downsampling (see sample pics)

scale to size
http://registry.gimp.org/node/92

Resize & match dpi + How to install gimp scripts

For after your prepwork, if regular scaling up makes image pixelated, you can try this vvv :

I will try to whiten out and rotate the image, that should really improve it.

Not sure about the small image stuff because in the open office ebook template the image takes up nearly 1 page
It reads almost as the same as the newspaper form, which is fine . Maybe needs to be about 10 % larger
Thanks
