How to make an antialiased triangle?
I made a triangle with the path tool, but then when I fill it with bucket fill the pixels either get filled or not filled. I want the original triangle, which doesn't lie on pixel edges but between edges ([0,16],[8.5,0],[17,16]), to be painted in such a way that if a pixel is partially in the triangle it gets partially painted. I'm working on a 17x16 size image.

Oops, I'm not sure if I've been fooled by the marching ants, they indicate a selection that follows pixel boundaries, but is the selection really following pixel boundaries? It's hard to see.

The marching ants follow the boundaries of the pixels that are more than half selected (selection mask value >127). So you can have partially selected pixels outside the ants. The bext way to appreciate the selection would be to use the "quickmask" mode (click on the dotted square at the bottom left corner of your image). The reddish hue is proportional the non-selection.

Try putting the Path to Selection, then create a new layer with the color you want your triangle to be, then copy from that layer. Then paste the triangle into a new layer. It's what I always do; the Bucket Fill doesn't work for me too.
