How to extend boundary for 3mm bleeds
I have a book cover which I am preparing for printing...I have been told I have to extend the boundary of the artwork for 3mm to allow room for trimming (bleeds). I would like to copy 3mm from the edge of the existing artwork and paste all around the edge of the artwork to extend the boundary by 3mm but GIMP won't let me do this. If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful! Many thanks.

RE: How to extend boundary for 3mm bleeds
You have to extend the canvas first: "Image/Canvas size". And if you want to paste on an existing layer, you have to extend that layer to fill the canvas "Layer/Layer to image size" (new layers may get the new canvas size).
