How do you add effects?
Hello everyone

I am asked to add effects such as gradient to text using Gimp for Mac.
So far, I found out selecting the target text using Select By Color and applying gradient to it works, but I feel you may have more efficient ways to add such effects to text.

Could someone please tell me standard ways to apply Gimp's equivalent of Photoshop's blending effects, especially the effects for text objects?

Thank you in advance,

Ead
