How can I change the color in this photo...
I have been asked by a friend to help him with the look of an electric roadster he wants to build. We put together a few photos from the net that he liked and have gotten this far. Now he wants to change the red color to black. I am new to Gimp and have no idea how to do that. The old program I used turned the masked red section to solid black. It did not allow for the light variations of the sunny reflections on the hood. Is there a function in Gimp that will automatically adjust for the light levels within a color fill or do I have to mask every conceivable shade and adjust the color fill for each? Any response will be appreciated. He is anxious to get started and I, to be finished.
Below is a link to the photo in case it doesn't load.

Never mind, I discovered a satisfactory solution using another program. Thanks anyways.
