How can I change photo of footprint to a painting?
Hi,

I have a photo of a directly scanned footprint (attached), and I would like to change it into more of a painting much like the 2nd picture attached. Can anyone tell me how I would do this? Oilify doesn't seem to be doing the trick, but I don't really understand the settings of it as I am a total novice. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

RE: How can I change photo of footprint to a painting?
You'll still want to use the oilify filter to clean up my technique when done.

1. Colors > Threshold...
2. Set the white & black arrows to make the background black & details in the foot
(see gif animation attached bellow)
3. Colors > Colorize
Bring the "saturation" all the way to the right.
"Hue" any color you want
"lightness" bring down to reveal the color.

4. Last, apply Filters > Artistic > Oilify
Radius, 2 to 4 px (or more, but it really smooths out everything past that)
