Hi from germany
Hi everybody,

i go by the name of Esper and im from germany.
Some people may know me from gimpchat.

I run a blog called Gimp-Science-Labs, that was originally for showing lesser known texteffects.

It all started when i researched how layerfx work. I wanted to know how to create all these effects without a script.
Next i studied loads of photoshop tutorials, to understand how texteffects in PS work.
Armed with that knowledge i tried to create new texteffects for Gimp without ripping off existing PS tutorials.
I wanted to counteract Gimps image of being a cheap imitation of PS.

My mission was only semi-successful and there was a hiatus at the end of last year.
Last month i started to post again adding new things, like more minimal stuff and Inkscape tutorials, because combining IS with Gimp opens up a whole world of new possibilities.

Hi Esper,
I miss some of them too...but until my membership is re-instated there is not a lot I can do about that.
This is my new home now.
Not as 'arty' as GC, but there are still many people looking for technical advice and assistance.

RE: Hi from germany
Btw, speaking of this forum is frowned upon on GC. Actually, you can't even talk about it because GC auto-censors any mention of it (in text or links).

Wilkommen, Esper, hier beim GimpForum. (Ich bin auch neu.) Die Mitglieder sind sehr hilfsbereit, besonders der Rich. Smile Ich habe schon viel gelernt.

[For the Anglophones, that says: "Welcome, Esper, here at the GF. (I'm new, too.) The participants are very helpful, especially Rich. I've already learned a lot.]
