Help with picture Beer & The Bin Machine
Hi.
I am reasonably experienced with gimp... Well sort of only just got my head around alpha layers.

I wanted some help and suggestions on the picture I am working on at the moment:

There is a certain "tackyness" to the picture I have already merged the characters layers together as I was planning on effecting them in some way to make all the parts of their bodies more cohesive.
I added in the shadows to try and make them sit better with the back ground which helped but the seperate parts of their bodies need cohesion.

Any advice, suggestions or help would be much appreciated, I really want to learn the more advanced sides of this software..

RE: Help with picture Beer & The Bin Machine
I know this seems noob but at the moment before attempting to clean this up much I wonder if there is an effect or technique to blend or blur the different parts I am using together, more the textures and shapes than the lighting and relief as I agree its all pretty screwed!

Otherwise you can also create a layer mask, initialize from alpha channel, and apply a gaussian blur of 1 or 2 pixels.

Thats sweet man thanks!

And now showing my total noobness you wouldn't happen to know the best place for a tutorial about creating layer masks and playing with alpha channels?
I know the internet is full of them but its always much easier learning from someone that knows what they are talking about!

Thanks! :-)

Bit of work went on on this. I took out some of the lighting problems on the middle head which is attached to the machine.

I focused more on effects and giving it more depth, its childish and silly but its a laugh.
Any feed back on easy ways to improve this would be great..
