Help with layers and pasting
Recently I've been trying to paste a second image under (or, the appearance that it's under) the background image. The background image is this:

Sadly, I don't remember how exactly I did it, but previously I managed to paste this second image under the aforementioned background image, so the second image was just like an outline on the background image, covered in purple. For some dumb reason, I didn't save it when I got the effect I wanted, but now I don't know how to reproduce it. I know that the filter > map > bumpmap has a similar effect, but it doesn't look as good as it did. I know I didn't do much more than mess with the layers and alpha channel and such, but I've been trying to reproduce it to no avail. Here's the second image:

I'm completely new to this, so I'd appreciate all the help you could give me. Thank you very much.

No. But this is pretty close to what it looked like:

That's with filter > map > bump map. Only it looked, I don't know, more smooth. I know for certain I didn't use bump map the first time.

RE: Help with layers and pasting
Put the blue layer at the bottom, and experiment with the layer "modes" (selector at top of the "Layers" dialog), in particular: Multiply, Overlay, Burn and Soft light...
