Help please
I am running gimp with the UFraw plugin and Gtk plugin but when I try to open a arw file a message comes up that says-

Cannot decode C:\Documents and Settings\Jim Drake\My Documents\My Pictures\Camera a300 001.ARW

What does that mean?

RE: Help please
it means that UFRaw cannot decode C:\Documents and Settings\Jim Drake\My Documents\My Pictures\Camera a300 001.ARW Smile

Possibly Gimp doesn't associate the .ARW extension with its UFRaw plugin. Edit the "pluginrc" file in your Gimp profile and check it has something like:

Code:
(plug-in-def "/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/ufraw-gimp" 1262714135
    (proc-def "file_ufraw_load" 1
         "Loads digital camera raw files"
         "Loads digital camera raw files."
         "Udi Fuchs"
"Copyright 2003 by Dave Coffin\nCopyright 2004 by Pawel Jochym\nCopyright 2004-2009 by Udi Fuchs"
         "ufraw-0.16"
         "raw image"
         0
        (icon stock-id -1 "")
        (load-proc
            (extension "3fr,arw,bay,bmq,cine,cr2,crw,cs1,dc2,dcr,dng,erf,fff,hdr,ia,jpg,k25,kc2,kdc,mdc,mef,mos,mrw,nef,nrw,orf,pef,pxn,qtk,raf,raw,rdc,rw2,rwl,sr2,srf,sti,tif,ufraw,x3f")
            (thumb-loader "file-ufraw-load-thumb"))
         ""
         3 1
        (proc-arg 0 "run-mode" "Interactive, non-interactive")
(proc-arg 4 "filename" "The name of the file to load")
(proc-arg 4 "raw-filename" "The name of the file to load")
        (proc-arg 13 "image" "Output image"))

This is for Linux, the Windows one ought to be similar, but with a different location for th executable.
