RE: Help Need with Text Layer Quality Please
What size is the image and the text? small text will look pixelated.

Next one. Is the png in indexed mode (look at the Gimp title bar at the top) indexed files have no anti-aliasing. Go to menu Image -> Mode and set to RGB

What else can go wrong, do not know, post your png image, maybe someone can comment.

Thankyou I have tried that, just now and is on RGB, If you can see the text once I write on top of the image goes very bad quality, I am just clicking text and then clicking onto the dress nothing else x

RE: Help Need with Text Layer Quality Please
I can not really see much of a problem with that image here.

This is what it looks like at 100% on my computer.

The image you posted is 1100 x 1650 pix and the ppi is set at 300.

That would (should) print with good quality at A5 size (about 150 x 200 mm).

If you turn off dot-for-dot in Gimp you see how an image prints (remember to turn it back on again)

If you want to print on a larger size of paper, say, A4 then the image should be larger, about 2200 x 3300 pix.

That looks like it was one time a Vector Graphic, but even as a png it should scale up x2 reasonably well. Then add the text.

If that is not the problem, possibly something hardware related with the printer (or you are printing on blotting paper Wink )

Use the Gimp menu Image -> Scale Image then set the size in the width / height boxes.

It has been a Gimp 2 point something since 2004, you probably have some version of Gimp 2.8

Have you set single window mode Gimp menu Windows -> (tick) Single Window Mode.

I still think if the cursive text is 'blotchy' then it will probably be the printer or the quality of the paper you are using.

I also didn't see anything wrong with the png you posted.

Though, there is automatic scaling down if you view it in the browser, (in chrome) click the image to make it zoom 100 %

Can you take a picture of the png after you printed it out & post that?
