Help - moving layers
So after I insert a new layer into the image, I want to move it around. However, I want its location to be precise - like how you can type in the exact coordinates of a selection. Is there any way to do this? Huh

Thanks! Move

RE: Help - moving layers
The above, generally sufficient.

Remember that you can also snap to a grid if the desired location falls on a grid.

If you like a plugin where you can enter the coordinates for guides (better than the standard one)
then GAT tools is the one. http://registry.gimp.org/node/25332

An old post with a link to a plugin pastexy.py I still use this occasionally
