HELP! Logo needs transparent background
Please help!!!! I have Gimp 2.8 and I have tried every which way to make the white background transparent. It doesn't work. I can't take other photos and remove backgrounds or various parts of the picture. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be great! Smile Thank you!!

RE: HELP! Logo needs transparent background
right-Click your image layer in the layers dialogue window

Click "Add alpha channel"

Then go to

"Colors > Color to alpha"

and either click the color white on the window that pops up if it isn't white already.

Or click the color inside the box [_______] then click the Colorpicker eye dropper icon in the window that pops up.
--Click the white area in the image preview window. Click both ok's

http://docs.gimp.org/en/plug-in-colortoalpha.html

Then when you save it,

Export it as a .PNG options:
-save transparency
-save background color

YOU ROCK!! It worked perfectly. I think it was a combo of color > color alpha and saving it as a png vs jpg. Thank you so much. I spent half the day on this. Thank you soooo much!
