Help file not recognised
I have downloaded GIMP 2.8 and Gimp help on both my desk top PC and laptop both running Win 7. When I open HELP from GIMP on the desk top it works fine but when I try to use it on the laptop I keep getting a message saying that Help has not been loaded and asks me if I want to go to the web version. I would like to use my laptop alongside me as a second screen displaying HELP. Can anyone advise me how to get the two files to associate on the laptop? Many thanks

RE: Help file not recognised
Many thanks OFNUTS for your response. What I was hoping for was some suggestion regarding what I might have done wrong as I used the same process to install on both machines. Both seem to have the help app in the GIMP folder but on the laptop it is not detected by the main program.
PS I am flattered by the description with my user name of "junior member". I am 75 years old!
Cheers all.

It could be a matter of checking your help system settings.
Here is what mine looks like with the top-most boxes my defaults.
