RE: HELP !
Alternately to above,
Here is another way, playing around a little, I found a filter/plugin built in gimp that kinda does a similar thing.

1
go to "Filter > Decor > Fuzzy Border"

-Make sure you uncheck "[]flatten image", so you can further edit the border after.
-Also make sure "[x]work on copy" is selected so you havea backup copy (optional)
-check the shadow option too.

Then set around the same settings as in the below picture:
(*Note: after you click ok & apply the filter, a new window should pop-up with 3 layers, like the bottom right of this picture)

2
You should now have 3 layers
Then go to "Filters > Blur > Motion Blur..."
-Pick option "zoom" & drag the "Length:" slider, looking at preview, to around the same setting as the picture or until your happy with it (don't drag it too far or it will blur the whole edge.)
Settings in pic below + final result(seen to the right in the first picture)

Eh do you know the name of this font its really nice

On my first search here are my top 4 finds, from best match(top)

*all should be free.

1
good match except for the "W"

2
Overall a great match! You can put the "S" on its own layer & use the Scale scale tool to widen it, then you have a perfect match ^_^
