Hello from an old fashioned illustrator
Hi folks. I joined because I found myself in the urgent need of info on GIMP.

I'm an illustrator, or used to be. (Now I'm gainfully employed) I worked mostly in the 1980's and 90's doing a few fantasy magazine and paperback covers and interiors. I'm finding the idea of giclee prints intriguing, and I'm using GIMP to help clean up the scans of some old scratchy and lint covered 4"x5" transparencies. I've also used it to help me create textures for the things I build in Second Life®.

So I am a little familiar with it, but I've only scratched the surface. Like many programs that do this much, it's pretty daunting at times.

I'll search around first and browse the tutorials before leaping in and asking questions. But I did want to say hello and thanks for this venue.

Cheers!
