Heal and Clone: Doesn't Work on Mac?
I'm using GIMP 2.8.3 with Mac OSX 10.6.8. I can't figure out how to get rid of a red line through my pictures, or even how to make the clone or the heal tools work at all. Isn't it true that you're supposed to click Control and a spot next to the blemish you want to erase, then click the blemish and it's suppose to disappear? What am I doing wrong?

RE: Heal and Clone: Doesn't Work
Please help, folks; I need this picture asap. I don't get a forbidden sign. What happens when I Ctrl-click on the source after selecting the clone tool is that a dialog box pops up on the photo: file, edit, select, etc. This just isn't working; I need to erase the date on the picture and a red line running thru it that was created when I cropped it in Vivitar. I need this picture by Thursday; can anyone please help me??

I have a Mac. Could ctrl-left click be different on a Mac? What should I do on a Mac to be able to clone?

I'm having the Same problem. No matter what I do I can't get the Clone & Heal tools to work.
Running 10.6.8 snow Leopard on Mac.

UpDate: I had to install 2.6.11 Gimp Now all tools work but only X11 Shows up No Gimp but now everything works. And only using one Left click to bring up tools.

OS: Apple Mac Mini, Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5
[newly acquired Sept. 2013]

In MAC... the COMMAND key is used instead of the CONTROL key [in Windows version]

COMMAND key is located immediately on either side of the space bar key of the MAC keyboard.

CIAO!! Smile

Oh well... I just realized that a previous right answer was already posted. I cannot find the delete key anywhere to remove my reply... just the Email, Find, Edit and Reply button.
