graduated selection in Quick-Mask mode
Hi GIMPers,

I'm trying to create a graduated selection in Quick-Mask mode... it isn't quite the same as what I am used to in PS... I am in Quick-Mask mode and I have the "Blend" tool set to "Mode: Normal", "Shape: Linear" and "Repeat: None" selected in the dropdown menus... I click and drag the blend tool from the point that I would like the graduated selection to start and I let go of it at the point that I want the graduated selection to end, but it is not changing the Quick-Mask selection transparency.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to accomplish this?

Thanks for any input,

digiday

UPDATE: Nevermind... I remembered I could accomplish the same thing by making a gradient of black to transparent on a top layer and then do an alpha selection of that gradient, and presto, a graduated selection.

RE: graduated selection in Quick-Mask mode
Works for me...

Check that when going in quickmask mode, all you layers get deselected. Strange things happen if a layer is reselected, especially if it is not visible.

Sorry Ofnuts,

Not sure what language's grammar you are using or what you are talking about.

My UPDATE solution at the bottom of my post bypassed Quick-Mask altogether...
