Gradient layer, how?
Hello, i am a newbie using Gimp, but a really good one with Photoshop.
I've been experimenting with Gimp fpr quite a few days now, and I must say I love it.

Every now and then I come up with a slight problem of not knowing where has hidden his secrets, but i always manage to find them by searching them by google.

But not this one. Take a look at the crued picture:

The picture is made using PSD:
1) add black layer
2) add ring of fire in white color on top of black layer.
3) add gradient layer going from black - red - orange - yellow - white to create the flaming effect.
All easy using PSD, the gradient option is located onto the layers palette on the bottom of the screen.

But how can I create this in Gimp? My PSD brushes do work.
Please note, i am not talking about left to right gradients.
