GIMP scanning via Document Feeder
I've been using GIMP as my primary image editing program for probably the past year and a half or so. The one thing that is preventing me from fully converting from my ancient version of Photoshop, is the ability to scan multiple pages using the document feeder on my printer (HP C7200 series).

When I attempt to use this feature in GIMP, the first sheet scans fine, and it pulls the second sheet half through. Then it stops. The printer LCD tells me that it is still scanning, but the message remains until I reboot the printer.

I've searched the web/forums/etc and have had problems finding any information on this. I've read about "batch scanning" and SANE/XSANE, but I'm not sure this is the same issue. I'm also not sure I need any type of "scanning interface", as GIMP scans fine when I use the "Create..." menu. I'm also not sure about how installing SANE/XSANE (if that is the answer) would interfere with the HP software that is currently installed.

If anyone would point me in a solid direction on this issue I'd appreciate it. I'd say that I have an intermediate level of knowledge about using the program, but when it comes to scripts and different plugins for the program, I don't know the necessary jargon or have a thorough understanding of the concepts.

Much appreciation to anyone that takes the time to respond.
