GIMP freezing
Hi so I dont know where to post this but I'm not very good with computers and some what new to GIMP so I thought I would post here.

GIMP is freezing on start up for me, at first it was when it got to "Fonts" and after looking forever I saw something that said rename the "Gimp profile" I did that, at least Ia think I did. But now its freezing when it gets to "Looking for data files Dynamics" I have no idea what to do, and I'm not very good with computers. I love GIMP so I really want it to work. I have un/re downloaded it 3 times, and the rename thing, idk what else to do. I tried to locate the font that wasnt working or soemthing that I read somewhere else but that didnt work.

RE: GIMP freezing
Generally pointless re-installing Gimp. If there is a problem font, chances are it is in the Windows font file.
Your Gimp settings are in that Gimp profile which, assuming some sort of M$ Windows will be at
C:\Users\your-name\.gimp-2.8
delete that one so Gimp can make another.

I have installed Gimp many times over several versions in Windows and the advice I give is
Run the Gimp installer
Start Gimp
Do nothing, do not move the mouse, touch the keyboard, do not even look at the monitor.
Go for a walk around the block, have a cup of coffee
When you come back Gimp should be up and running.

RE: GIMP freezing
Okay so I think I did it, I don't know I'm so bad with computers, but its still not working for me. I have no idea what "M$ Windows" is. I looked up "C:\Users\your-name\.gimp-2.8" both how you had it, and with replacing the "your-name" with my computer name, and it tells me there are no files or anything. So I just look up "gimp-2.8" and stuff comes up, but not what I'm looking for. I'm so sorry I just really bad with computers.

Okay I should have posted that I'm NOT new to GIMP I have been using it for over a year, and then just one day it stopped working. but oh well its working again so I'm happy, but I don't think it was just sitting and waiting that did it.
