GIMP Driving me nuts [Undo changes the selected tool]
Hello. I got an issue...

Whenever i hit undo the tool i previously picked is swapped to something else and i literally hate that, it's a major distraction, is there any way to prevent it from happening?

I may not be perfect, but parts of me are excellent

The only "something else" I see is the color picker when I use the paint tools... because in the paint tools, you can change the foreground color by Ctrl-click. This is very handy. The "color picker" icon only appears if you wait between the Ctrl and the "Z" when undoing, and it disappears to be replaced by your current tool as soon as you release the Control key.

Uhm, it's not that, it changes into some selection movement tool. (Couldn't figure out it's name in english before)

What ever your current tool is? Can you make a screen capture?

Excuse my obscure screen resolution*, but what tool i got doesn't matter, also at times when i switch between GIMP and other programs that's running, eg. WinAmp, the tool is also changed

Before hitting undo a few times:
After hitting undo a few times:

It happens more frequently if i used my graphics tablet before/while clicking undo

*My true screen size is 2304x1024 pixels (1024x768+1280x1024)

RE: GIMP Driving me nuts [Undo changes the selected tool]
Hmmm... The graphic tablet.... that would explain it. Gimp has one tool associated to each "input devices". So if you have a tablet, you have at least two tools: one associated to the mouse, and one associated to the stylus. And if you have a stylus where both ends are active like on the Wacom tablets, you also have a third tool associated to the other end (the Eraser, usually). So what would happen is that an input device switch happens when you undo. And Gimp switches to a new device when it receives input from it, so any small move will do (table tremor that moves the mouse, for instance), or if you have a laptop, a hand detected by the touchpad (which is yet another devices)(you can use Edit/Preferences/Input devices to disable input devices you don't use).

Oh, I looked at the input devices, and my mouse isn't listed, but the tablet is listed as both a keybaord and as a mouse wheel.

Why isn't there an option in Preferences that enables/disables that "multi-tool" thing ?

Disabling the tablet would defeat it's purpose, so that won't do...
