GIMP doesn't see network folder

GIMP doesn't see network folder
Hello,

I use GIMP at work since a few days but we have a shared network folder where we work from (just to pc's) but the shared folder is on the other pc and I always need to save the files on the network folder. But GIMP only recognises the folder itself and not the content in it and all the subfolders.

Can anyone tell me why and how to fix this?

It's a folder on the other pc in the network. The full name is "\\Pc01\wifocarr" with subolders with just simple names as "images" and "storage". My pc is called pc02.
I'm not that good with command prompt.

I understand why it can't see the folder (it does see it when I drag images into GIMP and then save it or want to open another image) but i don't know how to fixe it.

Anyone a (simple) idea?

I think what Ofnuts suggested is about as simple as it gets. In Windows its called "Map A Network Drive". Double click on My Computer, then on the menu click Tools > Map Network Drive. First, select a drive letter that you want to use, then enter the folder location (in your case, \\Pc01\wifocarr). If you are certain about the exact spelling, just type it in, otherwise use the Browse button to find the correct folder on your network. Finally click on Finish.

Now, when you want to open (or save) a file from this folder in Gimp (or any other program) instead of trying to enter the folder's address, just look for Z:\ drive (or whatever drive letter you chose). That's all there is to it!

If you use this same folder often, make sure the box for "Reconnect at logon" is checked when you map the network drive. This will ensure that anytime you log on, that same folder will always be available as the same drive letter (provided the other computer is logged on as well).
