RE: GIMP Crashing????
GIMP depends on GTK+, maybe it's causing the problem. Try reinstalling both and let us know if that helps.

btw, welcome to the forum Smile

RE: GIMP Crashing????
In a few words, GKT+ is a cross-platform toolkit for building graphical user interfaces.

You should be able to find it under Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

RE: GIMP Crashing????
When you uninstall GIMP, do you still see the .gimp-2.6 folder in C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME ? If yes, backup it and then remove it.

The download from http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html should work just fine.

RE: GIMP Crashing????
Huh, at least you have a working copy of GIMP now. Btw, I'm still on 2.4.6 and you scared me on getting a newer version. Smile

Regarding the version 2.6.7, you can get it here http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win/files/

RE: GIMP Crashing????
Your brushes should be available in the backup of .gimp-2.6.

RE: GIMP Crashing????
oh I completely wiped it out I think the font was viral so hubby completely deleted everything Sad it's ok though cause I get to download the ones I know I like instead of trolling through program files to delete the stuff I didn't like and I'm showing a sample of my work I make images for a forum for a game on fb

RE: GIMP Crashing????
Charming! I like the images, pleasant to look at. Just the girl on the right is the first who catches the eye, this could make the girl on the left a bit angry. Maybe some light coming from the background could help. Or maybe green hair, NO? Smile However, the image has a nice flow now, and both girls on both sides catching the eye will break it.

Regarding the lost brushes, without hesitation try Recuva,
http://www.piriform.com/recuva
It's a file recovery program by the same developer who built CCleaner. You have to run it as soon as possible, because files deleted in Windows are not physically removed from the disk, instead marked as deleted. Later when you copy new files to the disk, the area of previous files is seen as empty and new files overwrite the old ones. This saves resources, why go delete and then write, if we can write everything on top.
