GIMP 2.8 file extension
XCF? Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't see it. Unfortunately I updated GIMP and regret it! It is utterly ridiculous to upload a JPG picture to work on and then now be forced to go through an 'Export' dialogue to resave it, and have to change the file extension that gimp has changed to xcf (who even wants that?) back to JPG (or whatever it was). Not only that, but after saving when you go to close the picture, it has suddenly become an 'Untiltled' picture and you have more options to go through....
Is there a way of getting back to normal and avoid all these extra very silly steps, just to save a picture one is working on? I've used GIMP for years and done a lot of work making up all sorts of pictures. Also, why was the 'Old English' text type removed a copy of versions back?
Thanks in advance.

RE: GIMP 2.8 file extension
First read the explanation: http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry...ui-changes

Then ask yourself "why you have chosen to express your opinion here, on this forum?".

If you were expecting to reach the developers with your opinion, then I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there aren't any coming here that we know about.

regards

Kevin
