Gimp 2.8.2 - UFRaw 0.18 - windows 7 problem
Hello,

I am trying to get UFRaw to work within Gimp(2.8.2) on windows 7 in order to be able to open RAW files comming from my DSLR Olympus camera.
I downloaded the windows "for dummies" installer, instructed to install in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2 and when I tried to open the program it gave me a systemerror: libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll
I uninstalled UFRaw and tried to reinstall it in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin but without result: this again gave me the same systemerror.

Is there any way to get UFRaw running within Gimp 2.8.2 on windows 7 ?

Thank you in advance

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are saying about using the software that comes with your camera but I would rather use a more widley used RAW processing program because the info I can find on that program is more available.

What RAW processor would you recommend ?

RE: Gimp 2.8.2 - UFRaw 0.18 - windows 7 problem
The one I use is the one built into Digikam. Or sometimes UFRaw, but outside of Gimp. I didn't try Photivo. I have a Canon camera and when I was on Windows I used the one that came with it (Digital Photo Professional).

The one everyone use isn't the one that your camera manufacturer optimized for its own sensor characteristics or with its own lens correction...

Being able to record your processing of one picture and apply it to other pictures of the same series is a useful feature, especially if you do panoramas.
