GIMP 2.6 won't uninstall
I have GIMP 2.6.10 installed on my computer, and went to update to 2.8. The update does actually seem to have installed successfully, but at the beginning of the install I got a window with the message, "The uninstall log file C:\Program Files (x86)\Gimp-2.0\setup\unins000.dat is in a format not recognised by this version of the uninstaller. Cannot uninstall". I get this same message if I try to uninstall the 2.6 using Windows control panel. Is there a simple way of removing the old program, or should I just give up and leave it lying around on the disc, unused?
I am running Win-7, 64 bit. Any other info which might help troubleshoot?

Bingo! It all worked perfectly. Thank you so much. (I was interested to note that 2.6 installed in the (X86) programs folder, while the 2.8 is entirely elsewhere, in the plain "programs" folder.)
