Getting screen capture into a reply
I have a screen capture to send with a post reply. Did it in Windows w/ snipping tool. Can't figure out how to attach this to post. Tried New Attachment, Browse, but didn't happen.

Also, how do I delete all the redundant posts/replies that I somehow accidently created? My Thread views are a mess.

RE: Getting screen capture into a reply
Just did a quick test and it seems to working okay for me.
After you clicked on browse did you click open in the window that pops up after navigating to the screen shot? Also you need to click the Add Attachment button next to the Browse button after the file name appears in the New Attachment window, and then an option to insert attachment into post should appear. Click on this and it will do like it says.
If you've tried all of the above already then the only other thing I can think of is that your browser might be playing tricks. I run FireFox and for some unknown reason I have to click on the X that appears at the top of the browser window, on the left hand side of the search/google box, before any of the options like insert quote and add hyper link appear. Clicking on the X stops the page from loading, why this sorts everything out I've no idea but it does.

Not sure how to delete stuff, might be an answer in your profile. Click User CP button, next to log out, for that one.

RE: Getting screen capture into a reply
Here is the screen capture re: previous threads about GIMP not letting me save jpg to xcf. Note that the blue Save button is hidden beneath the bottom bar, visible but not usable.

Also, to possibly clarify (or further muddy) the problem, when I returned to the folder the next day that I'd originally been working on (saving jpg to xcf, when suddenly I could no longer do that) , I discovered that all the remaining jpg files had suddenly been saved as xcf, even tho I'd done nothing except again try saving to xcf 1 or 2 files before giving up. (You might want to refer to my original post again).

RE: Getting screen capture into a reply
I would've said try dragging on the edge of the save/export window to reduce its size but I guess you've already tried that. If so and the window can't be made smaller with that method, then the only thing I can think of to make the save button visible is to right click on the Windows task bar, then click on Properties and on the window that pops up check the Auto- hide the taskbar box. The taskbar will drop out of sight and the save button should become visible.

I'm right out of ideas if you've already tried this approach.

Sorry but I aint got a clue as to why the files change to xcf.

RE: Getting screen capture into a reply
Good suggestions - thank you! I hid the task bar first, and that worked well. Later
I tried shrinking the window via the edges - that also worked; now I can also remove the save button from hiding. But the original small save as window is still gone.

Not sure what you mean by,

I had a look on my version but can't see any small save as window, but I'm running 2.8.2 and I noticed from your screen- shot that you're running 2.6. I can't remember what the save as window looked like in 2.6 but there are a fair few differences between the old and new versions.

It might be worth thinking about upgrading to 2.8. I got my copy from Gimp-Win and it works fine on my Vista PC. Not sure how it performs on Windows 7 though.
