frustrated...how to move a pic into gimp in order to edit it?
I have read numerous tutorials, etc about Gimp, but I see nowhere how to move an image into Gimp in the first place. I have pics in my computer, but i must know how to put them into Gimp for editing, etc.

Please help.....Thanks

If Gimp is installed properly, in your file explorer you can normally right-click the image files (extensions JPG/JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and XCF) and find Gimp listed in the "Open" choices.

Otherwise, you can also start Gimp, and use File/Open (Ctrl-0) and navigate the directory where your images are.
