Exporting Paths to Ai?
This may seem like a weird suggestion but I think that it would be very helpful to be able to export paths to AI. I am a graphics designer that uses GIMP and Cinema 4D on Wine. I find it very difficult to be able to take logos that I have made and have them be compatable with C4D. If there is a function already that makes this possible that would be great Big Grin but for now I can's seem to find one. Hopefully this might be a little feature in some of the later versions of GIMP, thanks! Tongue

RE: Exporting Paths to Ai?
OK, I saw this and wondered

Yesterday I had access to a win machine with AI ( think it was v11 CS something).

A gimp path exported to svg ( right click in the paths dialog ) opens in AI.
What I could not find in the limited time I had was an import function into an existing document but copy and paste should suffice.
The opened path, moved, scaled scaled etc. Really needed more time to try it out but seemed usable.

RE: Exporting Paths to Ai?
The AI equivalent in the OpenSource word is InkScape... with some luck for what you do Inkscape alone can replace Gimp+AI.
