Exporting Images problem?
Hi! I am a new GIMP user, and I've read many tutorials about the basic essentials of GIMP.
It seems like a great program, but I have just one 'problem'..

Whenever I go to export an image into a .gif file, I don't get that fancy window that everyone else gets.
All I get is just a dull Windows XP-esque box that has "Help","Export",and "Cancel".
(I've attached a screenshot)

When I click on Export, it just creates a plain image of the first layer of my gif.

Please help, if possible..I really need to get this out of the way!

Might be your Gimp installation is missing a file.
Is this a recent Gimp install and never worked, or has it worked in the past and just recently stopped displaying the 'fancy window'?
Which version of Gimp do you have?
Which OS system do you run?

In my Win7 x64 version of Gimp, the file that contains the user interface for the GIF save dialog is located in:
C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.8\share\gimp\2.0\ui\plug-ins
There you should have a file called:
plug-in-file-gif.ui

Check where your OS has Gimp installed.

RE: Exporting Images problem?
Hi! Thanks for replying to my thread, but it turns out I had just downloaded from a non-secure source. Was not exactly..a proper GIMP program. Downloading it anew has fixed it.
